Cleaning Modern Airliners

An airliner as huge aircraft with fixed wings that transport passengers and cargo. Even though the definition of airlines varies form different countries but typically it is defined as an aircraft made to carry multiple passengers in a commercial service.

Besides knowing how to fly aircrafts it also an important aspect of aviation safety to keep the aircraft well maintained. Most of the plane crashes are the results of pilot error and mechanical failure. There are some aspects in aviation safety that are considered small but have a huge bearing in flight safety.

This is about the aircraft’s surface which should be check and should be free from accumulations which will disrupt airflow over its wingtips. Although it could just like a small deal, but it can jeopardize the whole flight. Some examples of plane crashes occurred because some thin layers of ice accumulated at the length of the wingtip of the plane’s wing which disrupts the airflow in producing a stall. The same thing can happen if these small things are not checked regularly.

Aircraft cleaning

Maintaining the aircraft’s surface is easy as to compare it with maintaining its mechanics but still there are things need to look for in cleaning the surface of the aircraft such as surface cleaners. You need to have the cleaners that are eco friendly because before most of the aviation cleaners being used contained chlorinated solvent which are harmful to the environment and to the workers health. Several companies have received multiple lawsuit that affected their finance and overall reputation.

Another thing to check on the surface cleaner to be used is its flashpoint of 200F or above. This flash point is the temperature in which it ignites. Most pilots used surface cleaners as well in cleaning their engine parts that is why it is important to select the right flash point of the cleaner surface since it can ignite in just small electrical sparks. These are some reason why some airplanes needed to have a quick turn around between landings and take off to be serviced immediately.

Next thing to check is the surface cleaner ability to safely clean all metals since it is being used in different surfaces so making sure it will not be corroded is a must. You need to look at the label of the surface cleaners if it has the aerospace NESHAPS compliant, no hazardous ingredient as stated by the EPA and no SARA or RCRA listed ingredients.

These little things that need to be check is very important in making sure that the passengers and cargo will be at good hands as sometimes small things as may seem can be of great factor in determining life and death.
