What Makes Train Travel So Great

September 3rd, 2010

A lot of us actually forget that it is great to travel by train. You may need a few reminders if you are one of those who has forgotten about the pleasures of train travel. The reasons below will give you a reminder of everything train travel has to offer.

- Travelling by train means not having to worry about traffic of finding a parking space at the end of your journey. There is no need for you to have to concentrate on driving as you can just sit back and enjoy the trip.

- You will usually be exactly where you want to be when you get off a train as most of them are located in the heart of the city or town you are visiting. A train does not have any problem getting you to places where it would be almost impossible to take a car.

- Travelling by train usually means arriving on time; this means you can plan you day a lot better and not have to worry about being late.

- You can sleep on a train while you travel or catch up with some good books. However there are others who prefer to do nothing more than sit back with a coffee and look out the window.

- You can travel to an unbelievable number of places from any station in the UK. The fact that we are now connected to the rail network in Europe opens up even more destinations which we can visit. You could even take a trip on the Orient Express if you wanted to go somewhere as far as Asia.

- There is something just so relaxing about the movement of a train; if you just sit their feeling this sensation it can be similar to meditation.

- Not only is rail travel very convenient these days, it is also quite affordable too.

So there you have just a few reasons why you might want to travel by train.

Train Travel Takes All The Stress Out Of Going Places

August 1st, 2010

One of the most relaxing ways to travel is by train. Many people feel that there is more freedom when you drive yourself but sometimes it can be quite nice to just let someone else do the driving. Then you dont have all the worries of dealing with traffic and trying to find a parking space. The best thing is that you can relax and enjoy the travelling without worrying about how you are getting there as you do not ahve to exert any effort at all.

I actually really like to read a good book when I travel by train. I dont get enough time to do this at home, but when Im on the train there is nothing better to do. These days plenty of people would rather listen to their MP3 player but for me there is nothing better than getting caught up in a good story. Although I have seen plenty of people who can manage to read a book at the same time as listening to music – so they are definitely good multi-taskers. If I am travelling for quite a bit of time, I normally cannot read all the way so I sometimes just sit back and watch the other travellers which can be quite interesting. For most of us, meeting up and talking to strangers is not something that we do very often but on a train it is quite common – it is kind of like going back in time. Long train journeys means that I can also buy myself a coffee and a snack and I enjoy this part of the trip too.

These days you can get a train from London to anywhere in Europe. The Channel Tunnel connects the UK to France and travel from Folkestone to Calais only takes thirty five minutes so it really is a fantastic engineering feat. And whats even better is the fact that you can take your car with you in the tunnel if you wish.

Are you looking for Disneyland Paris tickets for your fun weekend away? Once you have the tickets, you may want to drive over, but you have to think about European breakdown cover. Getting this cover will give you peace of mind. On top of this, you will also want to consider European travel insurance.
